Astoro Ensemble

Astoro, previously known as Solter Plus, is a chamber ensemble founded in 2014 by Zoia Sorel and Terézia Vargová during their studies at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz, Austria. Since its formation, the ensemble has performed across Europe in various formations, including string duos, piano trios, and larger chamber groups such as string quartets and quintets. Their performances have graced numerous international festivals, including the Brucknerfest in Linz and the Reverb Festival in Regensburg.

Astoro is committed to providing audiences with a rich, emotional experience through a thoughtful blend of music, visual arts, psychology, and philosophy. This interdisciplinary approach is at the heart of their artistic vision. A unique aspect of their performances is the concert-exhibition format, which combines musical performances with the exhibition of paintings. These exhibitions primarily feature the works of ensemble member Zoia Sorel, who is also a painter. This concept has been successfully presented in several cities across Germany, Austria, Italy and Slovakia. The ensemble has achieved recognition in several international competitions in Great Britain, Austria, Italy, Greece and Serbia.

In addition to their active performance schedule, Astoro is expanding its educational efforts by opening a music academy with a special artistic program designed for both professionals as well as hobby musicians.

The ensemble is also engaged in a number of creative projects, including the publication of pedagogical and methodological books and the recording of CDs that showcase their diverse repertoire.

Astoro Ensemble continues to explore new avenues in classical music, always seeking to engage and inspire their audiences while contributing to the broader artistic community.
